It is only about wearing the right kind of clothing it is also about how you dress too ensure that you remain healthy when you are exercising when the weather turns colder or wetter.   In this article we offer a few guidelines to help ensure that when it comes to what to wear when exercising when the weather isn’t so great.

1.  The clothes that you choose to wear are ones that shouldn’t make you feel warm when you are leaving your home.   Ideally you should be looking to wear clothing for exercising in that will keep you warm but won’t make you too hot that you start to sweat a great deal.

2.   You must make sure that you have provided adequate cover for not only your hands but also your ears and nose.   What you must remember is that when exercising blood is pulled away from your hands and feet towards its core and so the risk of them is damaged by the cold is much greater.    Also as around 40% of all body heat can be lost through your head wearing a knitted hat that you are able to pull down over your ears can help to reduce this.

To protect your hands during your fitness bootcamp sessions you should be looking to wear a pair of gloves made from the same kind of materials that you are wearing on your body.

3. When you are going to be attending a fitness bootcamp session in the cold make sure that you wear layers of lightweight clothing that work together in order to keep you warm and dry.   Choose lightweight clothing that is made from materials such as polar fleece or polypropylene.   These all contain properties that will not only ensure that your body temperature remains constant but also will help to wick moisture away from your skin to the surface of the clothing you are wearing.

As these materials have the ability to wick away moisture so you don’t feel heavy and soggy as you sweat.  What you shouldn’t be wearing are clothing that are made from cotton.   As for your feet don’t wear thick cotton socks as these will only help the sweat to be retained, instead were ones made from a wool blend.   They may be much thinner than cotton socks but they will ensure that your feet remain not only warm but also dry.

4.  As already mentioned when exercising in cold weather wear three layers of clothing.   The first layer the one that is closest to your body is known as the base layer and these items should be made from materials that will wick moisture away.   For your legs you could wear a pair of polyester tights to keep them warm but will still allow you the freedom to move easily.   As for the second layer this is what we refer to as the insulating layer and is designed to keep the cold out but the heat from your body in.   Clothing made from fleece is ideal.

The final layer of clothing you should be wearing is that which will protect you not only from the wind but also from the rain or snow.   So a zip up lightweight jacket made from a polyester blend will be perfect. You don’t need to be cold and uncomfortable during your winter fitness bootcamp sessions , wear the right kit and have fun!

Fitness Bootcamp – Cross Trainers Are A Good Investment https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-cross-trainers-are-a-good-investment?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-cross-trainers-are-a-good-investment https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-cross-trainers-are-a-good-investment#comments Thu, 22 Sep 2011 09:50:09 +0000 alextg https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=200 Fitness BootcampWhen you are involved in a fitness bootcamp workout not only is it important to wear the right kind of sports bra and clothing, but also the right kind of footwear.   Most people will just pull on any kind of trainers without thinking about what effect wearing them could have on their feet.    In fact the best type of footwear you can wear when taking part in a fitness bootcamp workout are those known as cross trainers.

In this article we will explain a little more about what cross trainers are and the pros and cons of wearing them.   Plus we will also explain a little bit about the key features yours should come with.

This type of footwear is given its name as they can be worn when carrying out a variety of different activities.   So of course they are capable of being able to “cross” from one activity to another without the need for you having to take them off and put another pair of trainers on.   However these aren’t the kind of trainers you should be wearing when you are doing a lot of running.

So what are the pros and cons to be gained from investing in a pair of these types of trainers for you to wear when at your fitness bootcamp workout?

Pros Of Wearing Cross Trainers

1.   They are the most versatile type of athletic shoes you can currently purchase.

2.   This type of footwear will be able to meet your basic stability, comfort, cushioning and durability that is needed when doing any kind of sporting activity.

3.   They are the most economical purchase as you now only need to purchase one pair of trainers but use them when carrying out a number of different sporting activities.

Cons of Wearing Cross Trainers

1.  They should never be worn by people who go out running regularly as they don’t offer the same level of cushioning and flexibility as running athletic shoes can.

2.   Also you will find that they weigh quite a bit more than trainers designed for running in.

Key Features To Look For When Purchasing A Pair Of The Trainers To Wear At Your Workout At Fitness Bootcamp

1.   The outsoles of yours should be wide so that they offer plenty of support to both sides of your feet and this will help them to provide you with more stability when working out.

2.   Look for cross trainers that the actual soles are made from either carbon rubber or where this material has then been combined with blown rubber.   Not only does this help to reduce how much the trainers weigh but also helps to make them feel much softer and the sole is then much more flexible.

3.  These types of trainers tend not to have so much cushioning, as you would find in a pair of running ones.  However they still provide enough cushioning and support to ensure that no serious damage is caused to your feet and legs as you exercise.   When it comes to purchasing cross trainers you have a choice of material from which the cushioning inside them is made.   The first type is EVA, which is very lightweight but won’t offer you much stability.   Whilst the other material used is PU (Polyurethane) this is much denser and so is much more stable and much more durable, but does result in the trainers weighing more.

4.  Generally the upper parts of these trainers are made from leather as it helps to offer much more support to your ankles.   However if you can opt for pairs of cross trainers to wear at your fitness bootcamp sessions that are constructed from both leather and a lightweight synthetic mesh material.   Going for this type will ensure that air is able to get to your feet.   Plus make sure that when purchasing yours that they come with a secure lacing system to ensure that your feet will remain stable and secure when doing any kind of lateral movements during your workout.

Fitness Bootcamp – Selecting The Right Clothes https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-selecting-the-right-clothes?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-selecting-the-right-clothes https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-selecting-the-right-clothes#comments Thu, 22 Sep 2011 09:05:06 +0000 alextg https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=195 fitness bootcampHow To Go About Selecting The Right Clothes For Fitness Bootcamp

When you are deciding what to wear to a Fitness Bootcamp workout you shouldn’t be going solely on what is currently in trend.   What you need to remember is that the clothing you wear when exercising is the type that isn’t designed to make you feel more comfortable, but to actually prevent you from becoming uncomfortable whilst you work out.

By selecting the right kind of clothing to wear at a fitness boot camp will ensure that you are protected from injuries caused by chafing or the elements.   So there is less risk of you getting blisters for example.

So in order to help you choose the right kind of clothing to wear we offer some tips below you may find useful.

Tip 1 – What Material Should Your Clothing Be Made From?

The most important thing that needs to be considered when deciding what clothing to wear when exercising is how effective it will help to manage moisture.   Therefore you need to look for clothing made from materials that will help to wick moisture away from your skin.   When the skin becomes wet it will often lose heat 23 times more quickly than when it is dry and this will certainly not be ideal when you are working out in cooler weather.

Ideally look for clothing that is made from a hydrophobic fabric as this will help to pull any moisture away from your body that you produce when exercising.   Plus also this type of material will help to ensure that your body temperature remains more constant.

Tip 2 – What Types Of Socks Should Be Worn?

When it comes to exercising you should wear socks that you find comfortable.   Just as with the rest of your clothing make sure that the ones you choose are made from a material that allows moisture to be wicked away from your feet.   You should never actually wear socks made from cotton as they will allow the moisture to remain close to your feet and this could lead to you suffering painful blisters.   Plus over time you will find wearing such socks very uncomfortable.

As you will be doing some quite high impact exercises as part of your fitness bootcamp program choose socks that come with some padding.   They will help to ensure that your feet remain comfortable as you exercise.

Tip 3 – Think About The Temperature Outside?

When it comes to attending a fitness bootcamp most of it will take place outdoors, so you need to dress accordingly in respect of the weather.   Certainly when it turns a little cooler you should be considering wearing several layers of thin clothing.   Then as you get hotter you can remove some and then as you start to cool down you can start to put them back on again.

Ideally you first layer of clothing that nearest to your body should be the one that is able to wick moisture away easily and prevent you from losing to much heat as you exercise.   The second layer that you should be wearing in cold weather should be made of lightweight material and again help to stop moisture from remaining on the body.   As for the final layer well this should be made of a good quality material that allows air to circulate easily, but of course should protect you from the elements.

Fitness Bootcamp – How To Select The Right Kind Of Sports Bra https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-how-to-select-the-right-kind-of-sports-bra?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-how-to-select-the-right-kind-of-sports-bra https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-how-to-select-the-right-kind-of-sports-bra#comments Tue, 20 Sep 2011 08:45:54 +0000 alextg https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=189 Fitness Bootcamp choosing a sports braWhen it comes to exercising you wouldn’t wear a pair of jeans or flip-flops would you?  So it is important that when exercising you wear the right sort of bra.   Any sort of physical activity you perform including the exercises you do at a fitness bootcamp are strenuous and will cause your breasts to bounce.   Unfortunately by wearing a normal bra you won’t provide your breasts with the support that they need.

If your breasts aren’t provided with the right level of support when exercising then eventually they may begin to stretch and sag.   This will only cause you discomfort when exercising.   Plus also your breasts are going to rub against the skin surrounding them and possibly each other so that this could in turn lead to you suffering from pain where chafing has occurred.   Wearing a sports bra will ensure that issues like this can be avoided, plus a good one will help to ensure that moisture is wicked away from your skin.

Of course with so many different kinds of sports bras now available how do you decide which one is right for you?   It is important when shopping for such items that they meet the following:

1.  Make sure that there is some separation between each of the bras cups.   For those of you have large breasts, which are a cup, size C or bigger make sure that your sports bra has two separate cups with a divider between.   Also look for ones that are underwired, as these will offer your breasts even more support.   Plus look for bras for doing sports activities in that have a wide band around the chest.

2. For us women who have smaller breasts then opt for a compression sports bra.   These are pretty sturdy and will be made of breathable fabric to prevent the build up of moisture.   Unlike the bras made for larger breasted women these type will not have hooks at the back.  Instead to put them on you simply slide them over your head.

3.   The next thing to be looking at is the width of the straps.   Ideally look for sports bras that you can wear when doing exercises at the fitness bootcamp you attend that are wide.   This should make them feel more comfortable when being worn on your shoulders.   Also make sure that they are not made of a stretchy or elastic material as they could cause damage as you move.

4.   Look carefully at the location of the bras seams.   You must make sure that they are not located in positions where they are likely to cause rubbing or chafing to areas of the skin as you exercise.   Ideally the seams should be situated in locations that will not bother you as you workout.

5.   Finally when it comes to buying your sports bra make sure that the one you select allows for some stretching so that they fit around and over your breasts comfortably.   However the bra shouldn’t be able to stretch up or down or shouldn’t allow your breasts to bounce around.

Above we have offered some advice about how to go about selecting the right sports bra.   We would recommend that you try on several different makes and sizes before you purchase.   This will then ensure that you are able to concentrate better on the exercises during your fitness bootcamp program.

Have you begun to notice that your workouts at the gym don’t seem to keep you as motivated as they did?   Do you find that you are struggling to even get your gym kit together?   Well if you are now may be the time to consider signing up for a fitness bootcamp.

This type of workout has become extremely popular in recent years and is down to the fact that it is much more challenging.   Okay the name is somewhat intimidating but as you will soon discover there really isn’t anything to lose other than those extra few pounds you may have gained.

So what can you expect from attending a Fitness Bootcamp ?

  1. 1. Well firstly never expect to be doing the same workout over and over again.   This type of workout involves a great deal of variety, as you are required to complete a number of different exercises.   Some of which require the use of equipment such as dumbbells, jump ropes and resistance bands.

2.  Secondly the way in which you need to warm up varies it is much more energetic yet no use of traditional gym equipment such as treadmills is involved.   Instead you will be taught how to use bench jumps and burpees to raise your heart rate and bring your conditioning to a totally different level.   Plus you will also be shown the correct way to cool down after your workout.   This helps to ensure that you remain flexible as well as increasing blood flow around the body so you are much less likely to cause injury to yourself.

To see a real fitness bootcamp in action and some of the results you can achieve check out this youtube video from Fit Body BootCamp The good stuff starts at 1:04 and will show you exactly what to expect.

3.   Any fitness bootcamp is one that challenges your whole body so it becomes much tighter and toned.    Instead of you struggling to remember various exercises you would do in the gym your instructor will guide you through a set of exercises that is working your body as whole.

4.  With this form of workout you won’t always be working on your own.   There are certain exercises within the bootcamp that are designed to be carried out in pairs or in groups.   Not only will this help to ensure that you do actually finish the workout but will also help you in remaining motivated when doing the exercises.

5.  Finally you will be shown by your instructors how to do any new exercises correctly.   First off the instructor will show you how to perform the exercise taking it one step at a time.   Then when you actually try to perform it yourself they will spend time coming round to ensure that your form is correct and so ensuring that you are doing the exercise properly.

Along with the above you can also expect to lose those inches from around your waist as well as increase muscle tone.   Plus by joining a fitness bootcamp you will start to see your energy levels improve and this in turn is going to help you burn off calories much more quickly.   In some cases where you are working out very vigorously during one session you could end up burning as many as 1,000 calories.

Fitness Bootcamp – Do Some Research First https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-%e2%80%93-do-some-research-first?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-%25e2%2580%2593-do-some-research-first https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-%e2%80%93-do-some-research-first#comments Mon, 05 Sep 2011 06:08:29 +0000 alextg https://fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=173 Fitness Bootcamp

Attending one of the many fitness bootcamps available today is a great way of losing weight quickly.  However it is still important that you do some research into the various ones available so that you can choose the fitness bootcamp  that is right for you.   This will help to ensure that you then get the most out of it and will help you to achieve your goals.   In this article we cover some of the things to be looking at when you do your research.

1.  The first thing you need to understand when it comes to comparing various different fitness bootcamps is they may not always employ the best instructors.   When looking at what the bootcamp has to offer look to see what training the instructors have undertaken and what qualifications they have received

Often what you find with these types of fitness bootcamp exercise programs that have been set up by a local fitness instructor is that they obtain materials regarding setting up such a business.   Then they think that applying what is provided in this material will help them to get their business up and running.

The problem with instructors taking this kind of approach when setting up a fitness bootcamp is that they don’t really design programs to meet the individual needs of those participating in them.   So of course even when you do their course which looks great on paper you will find that you have very little to show for it at the end.   Therefore make sure you choose one where the instructors will undergo specialized training and once they have completed this will be provided with certificates.   Plus as you are looking to lose weight make sure that you choose a fitness bootcamp program that has been designed for this specific purpose.

2.   As with instructors when choosing such a program the workouts involved aren’t all the same.   Ideally you want to be looking for the kind of program where it has been proven to work as it has been used for some time.   This clearly shows that the instructors have experience in this type of workout regime and so will be able to tailor the program in order to meet your particular requirements the best.

Of course you may find that there are only a few such programs available in your area, which you can attend.   Again it is important to look closely what specialist training the instructors on these courses have undertaken.   If they haven’t undertaken any then of course it would be much wiser to avoid such fitness bootcamps.

3.  Finally when it comes to choosing the right fitness bootcamp look for one that offers a great deal of variety to the workout regime.   If the workouts can be altered to allow some more challenge then this will not only help you to remain motivated but will also help you to remain focused on what you want to achieve.

So don’t rush at joining the first fitness bootcamp program you come across because it is affordable.   Remember to take into account what it is you want to achieve by attending one.

Fitness Bootcamp – Warming Up Routine For Women https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-warming-up-routine-for-women?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-warming-up-routine-for-women https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-warming-up-routine-for-women#comments Fri, 02 Sep 2011 09:14:08 +0000 alextg https://fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=168 Fitness Bootcamp – What Is Involved When Warming Up

fitness bootcamp warm upToday more and more women are choosing to sign up to a fitness bootcamp designed specifically for them rather than going to the gym.   These particular workouts can take place either a couple of times a week or 5 times a week.   As well as helping to tone and tighten muscles they of course help to burn off unwanted fat.

Although the main workout is crucial so is the warm up as well.   However you shouldn’t mistake this aspect of the workout for stretching even though it is very much an important part of the warm up.

The warm up is designed in such a way to help raise your body temperature by 1.4 to 2.8 degrees Fahrenheit.   So your body will be better prepared for the vigorous types of exercises you will then need to carry out as part of a woman’s fitness bootcamp.

As you will discover the warming up session is made up three parts.   The first of these being the general warm up that is there to help loosen and warm up muscles.   This part of the warm up routine involves you performing a number of joint movements and aerobic exercises.

The joint rotation exercises are ones that target the joints to improve their motion by lubricating them.  You will be shown how to perform circular movements by your instructor in order to improve rotation and will involve all the joints in your body such as your wrists, shoulders, neck, elbows, hips, knees, ankles, legs and waist.

After these exercises have been completed now you can move on to the aerobic exercises this you perform for a few minutes and will help to increase the way your cardio vascular system functions.   The kind of aerobic exercises you do may involve a jumping rope.

Following the aerobic aspect of the warm you will then move on to the second part, which is the stretching phase of the warm up.   This part of the warm up at any women’s fitness bootcamp is a combination of both static and dynamic stretch exercises.

The static type always precedes the dynamic type to prevent you from injuring yourself.   Special emphasis in the static part of this warm up is placed on working muscles that will be used during the core part of your bootcamp workout.

Only when your instructor feels that you are ready will you then move on to the final part of the warm up.   This involves a variety of different strength exercises to help warm the muscles up especially those that are going to be used a great deal during the main part of the bootcamp workout.

The strength exercises you perform during this part of the warm up are the same as those you will perform during the main workout but at a much lower intensity.   The aim of these particular exercises during the warm up is to increase strength, balance and co-ordination when you are actually working out.   So helping to reduce the risk of you causing any kind of injury to yourself during the main part of the fitness bootcamp workout.

Fitness Bootcamp – A New Way For Getting In Shape https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-%e2%80%93-a-new-way-for-getting-in-shape?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fitness-bootcamp-%25e2%2580%2593-a-new-way-for-getting-in-shape https://www.fitnessbootcampblog.com/fitness-bootcamp-%e2%80%93-a-new-way-for-getting-in-shape#comments Fri, 19 Aug 2011 11:09:32 +0000 alextg https://fitnessbootcampblog.com/?p=149 fitness bootcampWhen you need to determine which is the best fitness bootcamp for you, you should be looking for the kind that won’t help you to achieve your goals, but also one that is fun to do.   Unfortunately many people when wanting to get in shape will be happy to do what is asked of them but as soon as it begins to feel repetitive they lose interest and gradually they stop attending their classes.

However this isn’t the case when it comes to joining a fitness bootcamp they are there to ensure that you remain focused and motivated on what it is you want to achieve.   There are also a number of other reasons why people are opting to participate in this types of workout programs rather than those that their local gym offer today.

The first of these being is that they are held outdoors, so there is more space for the exercises involved to be performed.   Plus rather than having to stand next to someone with smelly armpits you only get to smell the flowers and the grass.

Also the exercises that you perform aren’t only challenging but also a great deal of fun, as you have to compete against others who participate in the fitness bootcamp sessions with you.   As you are working yourself much harder during these sessions you will off course find yourself burning off unwanted calories and fat much more quickly.   So achieving your goals becomes a lot easier and these goals can be reached in a much shorter space of time.

The majority of people who opt to participate in a fitness bootcamp are normally looking for a way to get physically fit as quickly as possible.   The instructors of these types of programs will ensure that they provide you with a well-rounded experience that then allows the participants to carry on with their new fitness regime once the program has been completed.

Today there are many kinds of fitness boot camps that one can attend as the instructors provide them have tailored them to meet a person’s specific needs.   With these types of programs although the name conjures up thoughts of army sergeants screaming at the recruits these are actually much more fun.   The routines are certainly energetic but have been designed to ensure that those participating remain motivated and will assist them with achieving their goals.

For anyone who is looking for a way to take control once more over their health and fitness then participating in a four-week fitness bootcamp can prove very beneficial indeed.   Plus even when the program has finally finished you will discover that the exercises involved are the kinds that you can actually continue you on your own in the comfort of your own home.   So of course although the cost of attending one of these programs may seem a little high you won’t be faced with the costs of monthly gym membership that in all honesty you may use the facilities a few times before you soon become bored with the repetitive nature of the exercises you do there.

In the last few months there has been a steady increase in the number of people who want to learn more about fitness bootcamps.   These are people who are looking for a way to lose weight and get fit that isn’t only exhilarating but also challenging.   Of course you may still be wondering whether joining a local fitness bootcamp is a good idea for you.   Well in this article I will provide some reasons as to why it is.

However we would like to remind you that you can only really receive good results by finding a good bootcamp to attend that have good trainers and of course you are committed to achieving your goals.

Reasons why joining a fitness bootcamp is such a good idea.

  1. 1. You will find these a lot more fun as they are designed to challenge you more.   Plus you will find that the enthusiasm of the others in your bootcamp will help to turn exercise from a mundane chore into something that you cannot wait to do.

2.  This form of exercise is extremely effective at helping you to get fit and lose weight.   The reason for this is that it combines strength and cardiovascular training.   It has been shown that a combination of these types of exercises not only helps to burn fat but also build lean tissue.   Plus it will provide you with the energy you need for day to day living.

3.  It offers you the opportunity to meet some really great people.   Many people find that because they are all working towards the same goal they are willing to work together more.   Plus sometimes there are exercises within a fitness bootcamp that require you to work in teams.   Again helping you to remain focused and motivated on achieving your goals.  Certainly for anyone who has probably remaining motivated then look for fitness bootcamps that require you to attend for either 4, 6 or 12 weeks.    Remember you are going to have to pay up front to do these types of courses so it will prove a great incentive to ensure you keep attending.

4.  As all the training occurs outdoors there are no harsh fluorescent lights and no one spends time staring at themselves.   Plus there is no opportunity for anyone to actually hog all the equipment in the gym.

5.  You don’t have to listen to the terrible music that your local gym tends to pipe through its audio system, which they hope will help motivate you further.   Instead all you have to listen to are the sounds of the birds and the wind rustling through the trees.

6.  Of course you aren’t faced with those horrible smells that seem to accumulate in the gyms.   What you will now be faced with is the smells of nature, which is a far more pleasant smell to encounter instead of smelly socks or armpits.

7.  By going to fitness bootcamp it gives you real world strength and skills that make doing everyday things in your life a great deal easier.
